The meeting points of poetry and politics are few and far between, not common grist for the regular pundit mill. Which is why I take the rare opportunity to open this week with a few poetic lines from Max Baucus’s Senate retirement announcement in the Great Falls Tribune:
As everyone has been painfully aware, this was a tough week; one with several high-profile tragedies where media and law enforcement worked around the clock in search of justice and resolution.
Congress returned to session on Monday from a two-week recess. The flurry of announcements and special “unveilings” throughout the week felt very much in-line with the backlog of activity that had built over their break.
